My Bio

Posted - April 2005

A year after graduating from Sunnyvale High I went to a Bible College in Wisconsin and then in the summer of 1972 I got a job at Ampex in Sunnyvale. In 1977 I relocated with Ampex to the Los Angeles area. In 1980 I met my husband and we were married in 1981. We have no children. In 1994 after more than 21 years with Ampex and due to corporate restructuring and downsizing I was laid off. In 1977 there were over 1000 employees and when I was laid off there were only 18 employees. The Los Angeles office was going to be closed in less than a year. Four months after being laid off from Ampex, I got a job at Lear Astornics which became GEC Marconi North America and then became BAE SYSTEMS. I am currently working at BAE SYSTEMS as a Sr. Cost Analyst/Estimator working on proposals for new contracts. We manufacture various Flight Control systems, Navigational Sensing Units and Unmanned Air Vehicles both for military and commercial application. I have gone through several life changing events in the last several years. In 2002 my mother passed away, I miss her very much. In 2003 my husband was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and hepatitis C. We are working very hard with USC to get my husband on the Liver Transplant List. In 2004 I had Bariatric Surgery (Gastric Bypass) and I have lost 150 pounds in the last 15 months.
