Instead of a bio,
if you will allow. I would like to tell you what I’m thankful for
and what brings joy to my heart. Skiing with my 12 year old
daughter, watching her and her friend (boarders) cut-up a run.
Myself, I now appreciate a well groomed slope (screw the moguls). My
15 year old daughter telling me that her friends think I’m a cool
Dad. My wife and I for 17 years have been able to work out our
differences. She’s from a small central valley town (Almond
Growers), very close family, private schools, and I’m not. Three
drummers in the family, my daughters and I. They tell me I sound Ok.
I think I sound great, it does help that I wear head phones and the
volume is up to 8 on the CD player. The girls play competitive
volleyball. Ashley played for her HS freshman team this year; we
were at every game with our bleacher chairs. I think in four years
of HS I only attended one game, my lose. I’ve coached the same
soccer team for eight years. Last game of the season 3/3 30 seconds
left, my ace forward drives to the goal and scores, what a thrill. I
started coaching them when it was a girls! under 6 team, we are now
playing U-14. I’m also on the board, equipment manager, referee
manager, and I also referee games. I enjoy ushering at our church.
Scripture, I couldn’t quote you a line, I don’t question it-I just
accept it. I did finish college; actually I still attend, now taking
IT courses on-line. After a number of years on night school,
correspondence, forces afloat (I was in the US Navy for 4 years,
travels the world aboard an aircraft carrier) TV, on-line, I
graduated, but have never stopped learning. I’m thankful for my
health, went skiing today, and now I’m at work (8:00 P.M. – 5:00
A.M.) I can still do stupid things like ski all day then go to work.
My senior year, Mr. Bettencourt tells me I’m going to be in his
printing & graphic arts class. I’ve now been in the Graphic Arts,
Printing and Publishing Business for 30 years. I now work for the:
State of Calif. Office of State Publishing. Last but not least, I
still have some hair left on the top of my! head, not a lot, just
some. Best regards, Mike Taylor |
